
UW Power Plant Tour
Join the Seattle IBPSA Chapter for a tour of the UW Power Plant with David Woodson (UW Executive Director of Campus Energy, Utilities & Operations) and Lisa Dulude (UW Director of Sustainability).
Please note that this event will be capped at 12 attendees. We will maintain a waiting list for any additional registrations and will confirm attendance registered attendees the day of the event and notify any folks from the waiting list of available openings if applicable. This event requires comfortable clothing including closed-toe, low heeled shoes and pants. Plan on wearing comfortable clothing as temperatures will fluctuate during the tour.
David Woodson

David Woodson is the Executive Director of Campus Energy, Utilities & Operations at the University of Washington and is leading the effort to decarbonize the district heating system at the flagship Seattle campus. David had a similar role at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and is enjoying the opportunity to apply the lessons learned from UBC at UW. David is a UW Alum (Aero and Astro ‘91) and holds an MBA ‘06 from UBC. David is presently the Vice-Chair of the International District Energy Association (IDEA).
Lisa Dulude
Lisa Dulude is the Director of Sustainability at the University of Washington. Lisa comes to the UW from Snohomish County, where she served as the county’s Energy and Sustainability Manager for the last 12 years. At Snohomish County, Lisa led a team of eight staff in the county’s Office of Energy and Sustainability, overseeing climate action and sustainability planning, energy and resource conservation programs, the Weatherization Program, Energy Smart Loan Program, and Savvy Septic Program. Prior to joining Snohomish County, Lisa worked in the private sector as a planning consultant. She also served as an AmeriCorps VISTA for a Denver based non-profit. Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, and a master’s degree in Urban Design and Planning (UDP) from UW. She is a certified Sustainable Building Advisor (SBA).
Mark Kirshenbaum
Mark Kirshenbaum is the Assistant director of Campus Utilities for the University of Washington. He is directly responsible for the operation of the UW Power Plant and the West Campus Utility Plant. These facilities supply the heating, air conditioning and emergency power needs of the UW Seattle Campus and the UW Medical Center. Kirschenbaum has over 39 years of power plant experience and is a graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy.
